Here's the scenario. You're walking down the street with an outfit you really like. This outfit defines you and your personality. Suddenly, people starts looking at you in a weird way then start laughing so loud after you walk pass them.
So, the main thing is how do you react when people mocks you or laugh because of your style? Well of course you must be able to be classy at the same time right?
What do you truly feel? Hurt or you just don't care.

This is different from people criticizing your look.

Just remember that it takes confidence, which they probably dont have, to wear something out of the ordinary. Just be confident and hold your head up high, maybe look back and smile in a i-feel-sorry-for-you kind of way (sounds mean but hey, they're asking for it).

If its a friend, or someone I actually have to be around, I just tell them that they need stop being so closed minded :)

To tell you the truth I don't care..:) Especially in Hungary there are so many people 'stuck' in 'popular fashion' ..(if you know what I'm thinking about) so it happens me almost everyday but I love it! :)
I love weird people and unique things. More unique people to Budapest!

I've been laughed at in my hometown for wearing harem pants tucked into doc martens with a bowler hat...I just thought it was funny because the girls laughing at me were fat, in tight tops, trackpants and ugg boots. So, really, I had an ego boots.

well it depends on who the person is, if i know them in any way, and what their style is like. i definitely know that not everyone is going to like the way that i dress & especially certain outfits that i own but most of the time i just try to ignore it (although it can be kind of hard sometimes) and i usually end up laughing about them laughing at me showing who i am because most people are usually too scared to actually dress how they want to.

HAHA this morning I was in a tinychat-room, with my new shirt on. (zahraisabelle.tumblr.com/photo/1280/6017253641/1/tumblr_lm17j5aS031qb0f70)

and a snottyass skatergirl goes "if you don't skate you shouldn't wear box type logos"

and I was SO, SO, tempted to just go fucking apeshit on her. but she went off cam, idk why, maybe to go put on a beanie or WHATEVER THE FUCK skatergirls actually do.

Worse than that... while walking on the street, someboyd shouted me from his car «You're f*ckin' ugly!»

haha, I was wearing a leather jacket with sunglasses... there's some stupid people in this world!
But I didn't really care, here boys don't have style at all. Some has, but it's rare...

Nobody laughs at me, I've got a bit of a rep around where I live now - some guy gave it a go a while back and I used some black magic on him.

Although someone did try and throw a hot-dog out of a car at me today. Might have to pay him a visit.

I just keep walking proud of being an original unique person, and stare at them with my "I don't care look", straight to the eye, look at their outfit and ask to myself: " Why do you laugh at me, have you even seen what your wearing today?"

I just carry on with what I'm doing because I'm being true to myself. It doesn't help when you live in a small, rural town, and everybody dresses pretty much the same. There are a few of us that just do what we want.
A girl told me today that she's noticed that I dress in a different style almost everyday, and everyone just said, that's Jessica for you. It's not that I get bored, I just love so many different styles.

i smile. just boring people without creativity and their own style laugh at special outfits. last week a girl said very loud to a girl next to her "oh my god, look at her shoes!" and laughed. i looked at them, then on my shoes and smiled, because i felt special for a little moment. these moments make me proud, even if the boring ppl think it is weird.

I brush it off and move on in confidence.

I'm in California and even though I do the "Cali" style looks I sometimes dress a little bit of "East Coast-ish" in my outings. I don't get laughed at or anything, but my friend does poke at me for dressing up a bit.

well to be completely honest, it does make me a little sad and makes me not feel as confident in that certain outfit. even if the person has no fashion taste, i will definitely laugh back, but it does affect me in a small way. it sucks because i try not to care what people think about me, but it really is very difficult. i generally don't care, but i can't help feel bad if someone laughs at me or i hear what they whisper when i walk by.

nobody has quite laughed at me yet, i've only ever gotten backhanded comments from acquaintances or friends as the worst of it. i've had some things told to me through formspring when that was popular like a year ago.

nothing that was really worth a reaction. i usually just stare at them with a deadpan expression until they realize i could care less.

I can only remember once and that was in high school Grade 9 I think, and I was laughed at for wearing a trend that the stupid, tasteless retarded bitches had not picked up on yet, at the time I felt a bit bad but I also knew that I looked good but I just shook it off and walked away but back then I was much more milder... And about a year later all of those retards were wearing the same trend that I wore, talk about slow! If that should happen now well I'd probably say something really really aggressive with lots of "beautiful expressive" words, I wouldn't make a scene tho, I'd do it while walking away! (*-*)

The other day I wore my jumpsuit to school, most people were proud of me for steping out. It was actually the kids from the younger grades that stared and laughed. I smiled at them and walked right on by, owning my jumpsuit and teaching them all that this was me and I don't care what you think.

I really don't care, I think I'll laugh with them. The persons who mock me the most are my best friends, so I'm used to it. Last time I wore my rain boots and they started laughing and asking were did I left the fireman truck, I thought that was funny.

Well it's funny that people who laugh aren't fashionable at all. This has never happened to me before but I do get some weird looks when I walk down the street sometimes. But I really don't care, I used to but now there are more and more people who love how I dress and that's all all the support I need to ignore the non-fashionables. Who cares about dem haters, be who you are :)

Well i live in a small town and most of the people know only one look and thats preppy!! And don't get me wrong i like that styling but it's not the be all and end all. And the reason a lot of the people in my area dress like that in my opinion is because they want to be on the safe side and its what everyone else wears. So there has been times when there has been a few funny looks from others but i think thats down to their own ignorance. So i tend to pity people like that because it's sad that they don't have the confidence or the ability to put an outfit together thats a little bit fashion forward and walk down the street like they own it!! I think think we should all celebrate individuality and thats why i love lookbook!!! :):):)
