I've only travelled by myself but met up with people I know, I don't know how I would feel about going somewhere completely alone

not exactly alone... i was alone only in the airplain/bus/train between countries... but i have almost at every country in europe friends so when i'm not on the road i'm never alone... i live at friend's place, sometimes i go to hotels (i really can't stand hostels...and to use public shower...EWWW!!!) but it's a great fun!!

I went alone to Sweden this summer.. first volunteered at a yoga/retreatcentre and after that I stayed in Stockholm for a few days.
It's fun to go alone cause you can do whatever you want, but it was also a bit tiring, cause honestly most people I met were guys who were interested in me and wanted to have sex with me. That was very annoying, I was glad that I knew some girls from couchsurfing to hang out with and do fun things with.

I'd like Travel all by myself. I'd prefer it that way, but at the same time I fear predators.

I don't think I'd like to travel alone. I'd be too nervous going to a city I didn't know without anyone for company and I'm too shy to talk to strangers and would probably get bored with my own company.
I enjoy spending the day on my own in London but I'm safe in the knowledge that I know the city like the back of my hand, my home is here and when I've had enough of listening to myself think, I'll have people I know to talk to in the evening.

If you are going to travel alone and think you might get lonely, you can always try couchsurfing. That way I got to know some very interesting people, when I was travelling alone.Although I'm not entirely sure I'd do it again,I enjoy the company of my friends too much.

My friend recently took a trip to Vietnam by himself. It was completely random and I think he's nuts.
